Chevrolet Orlando Minivan Concept Photo Gallery

A whole bunch of images of the Orlando Concept appeared on a Belgian website today offering us our first live view of Chevy’s new seven-seat minivan ahead of its worldwide debut at the Paris Show. The Orlando, which has more blue lights on the outside than a U.S. police car on a hot pursuit, shares the same Delta II platform as the Cruze. Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine developing 150HP and 320 Nm of torque. From what we’ve learned, the Orlando will find its way into production by 2010. Chevrolet Orlando: Paris Debut for 7-Seat Minivan Based on the Cruze

More of a pre-production model than a concept, the Orlando previews Chevy’s forthcoming entry in the European compact minivan segment where it will compete against cars like the Opel Zafira, Renault Scenic and the VW Touran. Based on the recently announced Cruze compact sedan, the Orlando show car carries Chevy’s signature design language with elements like the large split grille and the profiled shoulder line.

Sitting on a 2,760mm wheelbase, the five-door Orlando can accommodate seven occupants in three rows of seats that can be adapted to the driver’s needs, allowing the transformation of the cabin into a large cargo area. The most notable design feature of the interior is what appears to be a Camaro inspired instrument panel. -Continued

The Paris Show car will be equipped with GM Europe’s latest-generation 2.0-liter turbo diesel, developing 150 hp and 320 Nm of torque, but expect the production version to be offered with a wide range of petrol and diesel engines when the Orlando enters the market before the end of the decade.

Transformer 2 Corvette Centennial Concept in all its glory

Our friends over at Jalopnik hit the jackpot with these new shots of the Corvette Centennial Concept that was built to play a role in next summer’s blockbuster ‘Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen’ as well as to celebrate General Motors 100-year anniversary. The futuristic Corvette concept takes several styling cues from the older Vettes including the split rear-window from the ’63 Sting Ray. GM has been awfully quite with the Corvette Centennial so we’ll have to take Jalopnik’s word that the concept does not preview in any way the forthcoming C7 Vette. -Continued
