Mansory Porsche Cayenne Turbo

Mansory put up quite a show in Geneva this week as the tuning house unveiled no less than three world premieres. Aside from the Mercedes SLS AMG Cormeum and the Ferrari 458 Italia Siracusa, that we've already told you about, the tuner's Swiss subsidiary also revealed a new program for the latest generation of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo SUV.
The tune includes an excessive aero treatment with a wide-body kit that extends the vehicle by 60 mm at the front and 80 mm at the back and also comes with numerous carbon fiber parts such as the bonnet, side skirts and rear diffuser. New daytime running lights and a set of 22-inch black alloy wheels shod in massive 295/30 tires further differentiate the SUV's looks from its factory sibling.
Under the bonnet, Mansory Switzerland upgrades the Cayenne Turbo's 4.8-liter V8 with larger turbo chargers, a custom exhaust system, reprogrammed ECU and other mods resulting to an output of 690HP and 800Nm of peak torque at 4,800 rpm for a 0 to 100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 300km/h (186 mph).
Mansory said buyers can also opt for a variety of interior enhancements and an electronic module for the air suspension to lower the SUV's ride height by 45mm.

Porsche 911 Carrera and black edition

The new generation of the Porsche 911 is in the final stages of development, but we still have some time before it dazzles its way to the motorshow catwalks. To keep the momentum rolling until its presentation later this year, Porsche decided to launch yet another limited run version of the current 911 called the Black Edition.
This time, Porsche's new special is based on the entry-level 911 Carrera Coupe and Convertible models boasting a black theme inside and out, and adding numerous extras and features. Production will be limited to just 1,911 examples worldwide with sales to start around April.
Both Black Editions are painted in plain black as standard, with Basalt Black metallic available as an option, while the folding hood of the Cabriolet model is trimmed in black cloth. Other styling highlights include the 19-inch 911 Turbo II forged alloy wheels with a glossy black trim and the black-finished, four-piston aluminium monobloc fixed brake callipers.

  

Standard features include a 385W BOSE Surround Sound-System with 13 loudspeakers (twelve in the Cabriolet), satellite navigation, ParkAssist, cruise control, automatic dimming anti-dazzle interior and exterior mirrors, and rain-sensing windscreen wipers.
Power for both body styles comes from the standard Carrera 3.6-liter flat-six cylinder engine, producing 345-horses at 6,500 rpm. Coupled with the six-speed gearbox, this output delivers a top speed of 289km/h (180 mph) in both body versions. Acceleration from 0 to 100km/h (62 mph) comes in 4.9 seconds for the Coupe and 5.1 seconds for the Convertible. 

Buyers can also opt for Porsche's PDK twin-clutch transmission, in which case, the Coupe accomplishes the sprint in 4.7 seconds and the Cabrio in 4.9 seconds. Those that want to dig further into their pockets can order the optional Sport Chrono Plus package that includes the "Launch Control" function, which shaves 0.2 seconds off the acceleration times of vehicles equipped with PDK.
In the U.S., the MSRP will be $81,300 for the Coupe and $91,300 for the Cabriolet, with Porsche claiming savings of around $6,000 over a similarly equipped 911 Carrera.
In the UK, the 911 Black Edition is priced from £67,270 for the Coupé and £74,958 for the Cabriolet – the same price as the standard 911 Carrera models.

Porsche Panamera 2011

The Tokyo Auto Salon is always a blast featuring all sorts of unique tuning proposals, like this here Porsche wannabe. When our Tokyo show man Phil e-mailed the above photo, we assumed it pictured a Porsche -possibly a Boxster- modified to resemble a Panamera Convertible. We were quickly proven wrong, however, when he sent over an image of the interior and some video footage revealing that the Porsche Panamera tune was actually a...masqueraded Nissan 350Z Roadster. EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR

Among the additions Vorsteiner installed on the 911’s exterior include a VRT front bumper cover with spoiler attachment carbon fiber, a VRT rear bumper with diffuser carbon fiber for the LED tail lights, a VRT intercooler shrouds carbon fiber, a VRT aero engine lid with wing blade carbon fiber, a VRT sport roof replacement carbon fiber, an upgraded Porsche LED taillights, carbon fiber side mirror housings, and a custom clear bra protection on a number of parts including the bumper, hood, fenders, door and mirrors.

In the interior, there’s plenty more Vorsteiner additions, including a thicker sport steering wheel with red deviated stitching, sport aluminum pedals with heel toe extensions, sport aluminum floor boards, carbon fiber on the center console, rear ash tray, and seat belt trim, and plenty of Alcantara to go around including in the set inserts, as well as embossed in the arm rest, chrono pod, and hand brake with red deviated stitching. Finally, there are also Volrsteiner-embroidered floor mats with red piping in the front and rear.

PERFORMANCE

The Vorsteiner VRT 911 Coupe is powered by a horizontally opposed 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 460 horsepower and 480 lb/ft of torque mated to a six-speed manual transmission with dual mass flywheel.

To further boost its performance, Vorsteiner also included a stainless steel exhaust system, performance intercoolers, a GIAC custom sport tuning programming & device switch unit,

 and a KW hydraulic lift coilover system that raises the 911’s front end by one inch.

PRICING

The standard retail price for a newly outfitted 911 Turbo Coupe goes for $132,705, but seeing as this car already has some mileage to it – about 8,500 miles – the asking price has been dropped to $99,500. It might still be a high asking price for a slightly used Vorsteiner VRT 911 Turbo Coupe, although if you really think about it, all the modifications total to a price tag of $57,815.

A number of tuning firms have already put the 911 under the proverbial tuning phase and there always seems to be a healthy competition from tuning firms to develop the most awesome 911 on the street. Firms like 9ff, TechArt, Sportec, and even Misha, have taken their turns upping the ante on the 911. There are differences in power, of course, with 9ff arguably producing the most powerful modded Porsches on the planet. All this, of course, still remains a subjective matter depending on what your preferences are. If you’re looking for a performance upgrade, 9ff is a good one to consider. If you’re looking for styling upgrades, Misha’s work with the 911 Turbo is a work of art. And if you’re looking for the whole package, Vorsteiner’s VRT 911 Turbo Coupe is about as good a modded 911 as you can find.

The Porsche 911 is a favorite among auto tuners for a number of reasons. First, it’s fast. Second, it’s fast. And third, well, it’s fast. Apart from being fast, the 911 has and will always be Porsche’s signature sports car and fans of the brand always seem to have an insatiable appetite for the 911, especially when it’s been given an aftermarket treatment.

German firm, Vorsteiner, knows the Porsche and the 911 all too well, having done a number of aftermarket projects on the brand and the model in the past. This particular project is a 2007 model that is being sold with a pretty generous discount. We’re not going to reveal how much the price is until after the jump, but if you’re looking for a tuned-up Porsche done by an authority in aftermarket projects for the Stuttgart brand, you won’t find anybody else better than Vorsteiner.

Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Confirmed For Race Of Champions 2010

The most successful race car of all time is set to meet some of the most successful race drivers of all time at this years’ Race of Champions. The event is an absolute riot of fun and includes cars and bikes from all forms of FIA Motorsport.
